Removing acrylic nails is an easy task. It's for from being rocket science and anyone who has the right tools can actually perform the procedure herself. As long as you don't forcefully peel off the layer of acrylic nails from your fingers, you won't get hurt.
The first thing that you need to do is to make sure that you have all the necessary items you will use during the removal process. The items you will need are listed below:

Polish Remover
* Nail Buffer
* Glass Bowl
* Petroleum Jelly
* Thick Layer of Old News Papers
* Hand Moisturizer
* Small Table or Any Surface You Can Work On
Once you have prepared and assembled all these items, you must now find an area where you could work on removing your acrylic nails. Set up the table or the flat surface you are planning on working on. Remember to lay out thick stacks of old news papers on the table's surface. This will prevent you or any of the chemicals you are using from damaging the table.
After setting up the work space, you are now ready to begin the procedure:
1. Wash your hands.
2. Clip your nails and the acrylic nails first. Trim it as short as possible. The shorter you can trim your nails, the less acrylic you will have to remove.
3. Pour some nail polish remover on the glass bowl.
4. Apply a layer of petroleum jelly on the skin on your fingers surrounding your nails. Make sure that your nails don't get any petroleum jelly on them because these will prevent the nail poslish remover from reacting to that area on your nails.
5. Soak your nails on the nail polish remover for about 15 to 20 minutes.
6. Peel off the acrylic from your nails. If you encounter resistance, don't force it or you might damage your nails. Just soak your nails on the nail polish remover for another five minutes. This will allow you to remove the stubborn acrylic from your nails with ease.
7. File and buffer your nails to remove any remaining acrylic on your nails.
8. Wash your hands again to remove the petroleum jelly and any chemical residue on your fingers.
9. Put some moisturizing cream on your fingers and hands to prevent it from drying caused by the chemicals.
