Clear Nail Antimicrobial Solution - TO Acrylic Nails

The fungal nail condition can be both embarrassing and painful for those of you that have it. Fungal nails make up 50% of all nail infections, the other types are viral and bacterial nail infections. Your nail can become thickened, scaly and discoloured if left untreated. The nail can then be lost and the infection can spread to the other nails.
In the Podiatry clinic this is a common condition that is presented and one that we can treat very effectively if caught in the early stages.
Treatment can involve thinning down your affected nail with a drill burr and cutting back the dead nail. Then daily treatment at home with a nail lacquer such as Clear Zal which kills 99.9% of all fungus, bacterial and viral nail infections.
A regular Podiatry appointment every couple of months is recommended to review your condition.
Fungal nail infections are caused by dermatophytes, which digest keratin by producing enzymes.

There are 3 generation of dermatophyes: Microsprum, Epidermophyton or the more common Trichophyton rubrum. In some cases it may be necessary to confirm the type of species by microscopy. The fungus must then be cultured. This procedure can be arranged by us at the Podiatry clinic.
Other types of fungal infections are yeasts (like candida in thrush); in rare cases moulds and other fungal organisms. Most fungal nail infections are caused by the same infection that causes athletes foot.
To prevent you from catching fungal nail infection we advise the following:-
- Change hosiery daily
- Wash and dry your feet thoroughly, especially between the toes
- Wear cotton socks and leather shoes to allow the feet to breath
- Wear roomy shoes
- Always wear flip flops when sharing communal baths
- Get your feet checked early by a Podiatrist or a medically trained professional if you suspect a fungal infection
- Try to stop smoking
- Avoid trauma to your nails as this can then become a portal for infection into your nail

Clear Zal is a wonderful natural treatment which contains aloe; it is a broad spectrum antimicrobial solution in an easy to apply gel lacquer which is very soothing. It is always advisable to read any instructions very carefully before using any medication to treat your condition.
In some cases it may be necessary to seek the advice of a Podiatrist or another medically trained professional. If you are Diabetic or have circulatory problems this is very strongly advised. Please use any medication as indicated in the instructions for usage to avoid neglect when using.
